Why did you guys choose this song as your single?
– After listening to all of the tracks from our EP, “Ten Thousand Lies,” we quickly decided that Reflection showcased our talents the best. It has an awesome intro riff that immediately catches your attention, anticipating its next step. The chorus was very big, fast paced and full of energy. The lyrics flowed throughout the song with such sincerity and compassion beneath the words. It was the perfect representation of how we wanted to present ourselves.
What was the writing process like for Reflection?
– The writing process for Reflection, in particular, was surprisingly very streamline. When we’re in the studio, we tend to get caught up trying to come out with the perfect piece for each song, but with Reflection, everything just seemed to come out naturally. We knew going in that this was going to be that type of song that just happens, rather then being built from an idea or a riff.
What does this song mean to the group?
– To me, Stephen, its meaning is personal, but if I were to speak for the entire band, I’d like to think Reflection means a new step forward. We’ve gone through a lot together, hit highs and lows and helped each other through every step of the way. It means picking up and moving forward no matter what tries to slow us down.
