Why did you select this song as your single?
This song is very personal to me. Not only is it about a friend that lost his way, but it is also a reflection of how I feel trying to make it in this business. This is why this was the chosen single.
How does this song relate to the rest of the album?
The underline spirit of the album is hope. This is a record that represents that…even at its worse, there’s always a way out. You just have to stop “running”.
What was the writing process for this song?
The process of writing this song was very emotional, and dark. It was inspired by a friend of mine that was in Narcotics Anonymous and relapsed and was on the verge of taking his own life. I had to try and get to the same emotional state as him. It was very hard, but therapeutic at the same time. It reminded ME not to give up!!!
What would it be like to see you perform this song?
I think the audience really relates to this song. Not just hearing it, but seeing me perform it live. Its so personal for me, that I make sure you FEEL every word. We’re all crying by the end of the song. Lol…
Is there a video for the song, and if so what’s the concept?
Although the inspiration was addiction, the concept of the video is me as an artist just trying to make it. Shows me as a waitress, recording and then finally getting on stage, and a super cool fact, everyone in the video is a friend of mine:)
