Why did you select this song as your current single?
Simply because the truth is being ridicule and dismissed a lot lately. People are having a hard time keeping it real with themselves and with others. It’s everywhere from Hollywood business to the music industry; from relationships to friendships and relatives. Record executives lying about a 360 deal just to get you to sign on the dotted line. Men and women lie about not being less interested in you and more interested in someone else. This is a song that represents what I’ve experienced in my own personal life and I feel it’s always necessary to keep it true no matter what.
How does this single relate to the rest of the Album, EP, or Mix-tape?
The mix tape I’m currently working on is called “Feel My Pain”, which is basically and soundtrack to my personal life. Giving the fans a glimpse of the trials and tribulations I’ve went through growing up from a teenager to a grown man. This single is just one of those songs that tells only a partial of things I’ve been through.
What was the writing process for the song?
Whenever I find the spare time in my busy work schedule to sit back and listen to instrumentals. I grab my headphones and turn on the beat and then I zone out. I freestyle in my head by mumbling a bunch of random words until something comes along. Eventually the verses came into play, a hook came next, and then you got yourself a dope track.
What does this song’s lyric mean to you?
Stop with the unnecessary lies and just keep it real. Do onto others as you would want done onto you. If you don’t like being lied too why lie to others? As they all say “Keep it 100”
What would it be like to see you in person performing this song?
It would be a positive experience because when I’m performing it’s like I’m talking to you personally. I like to have a connection with the crowd when I’m performing on stage.
Could your fans summarize who you are as an artist by this song?
I’d like to think my they could just by listening to any of my music. By listening to this song I would like to think my fans capture the message behind the song. Which is just keeping it truthful with yourself and keeping it truthful with others.
Is there a video planned and or completed and if so, what was the idea behind the video?
No video is made for this single yet but I definitely hope in the near future that we can make a few phone calls and try to make that happen.
One last question, what is your motivation behind your music?
My motivation behind my music is “me”. I am my own motivation behind my music period. Music is my way of expression my feelings and without music there’s no telling where I would currently be right now. It’s because of me that I decided to even pick up a mic and started rapping. I do this for me and hopefully I go throughout my life doing what I love to do for a living.
