Theo Brown

The first time I heard Theo Brown’s “The Void” I fell in love with the sound this music is simply remarkable. The tune sucks you in when you hear the soulful voice of the lead female vocalist. “The Void” is the beginning to a CD that takes on a journey, where I just don’t know as yet. Stay tuned and check out Theo’s thoughts behind the first track.

Why did you select this song as your current single?

I selected this song because the music really captures the mood and spirit of the lyrics.

How does this single relate to the rest of the Album, EP or Mix-tape?

This single relates to the rest of the album because it sticks with the theme of love and loved lost.

What was the writing process for the song?

For pretty much all of my songs, I usually write the music first. I normally sit at keyboard and write a song and hum a melody as I am playing. I then think about a situation in my life that reflects the sound of the music and I connect the two through lyrics.

What does this song’s lyric mean to you?

All of the songs I write are based on or are actual things I have experienced. So the lyrics mean everything to me.

What would it be like to see you in person performing this song?

My live sound has excellent musicianship and that is because I play with some of the very best musicians in the Twin Cities area. If you like real music, with real musicality, you will be in for a treat. I bring a lot of energy.

Could your fans summarize who you are as an artist by this song?

I can’t even summarize who I am as an artist from one song. The sound the comes out are my literal feelings displayed.

Is there a video planned and or completed and if so, what was the idea behind the video?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jhHXVjHoXI0  Working on an actual music video.

One last question, what is your motivation behind your music?

My motivation comes from many places. I want to put out music to add to the world, I want to put out genuine music reflects who I am and what I’ve been through and at the same time relates to to other people. But at the same time, I make my music for no one, I make it to express what I feel, or have a new sound that I have not heard. I gain motivation from hearing other great artists and from many different genres of music.
