beyonce-knowles-normal-live-11453186193 days ago Beyonce released a new surprise album via iTunes. This album is much innovated as it has a visual for all the tracks and it has return to the way music use to be sold. This is the first album that iTunes has not allowed the customers to split the album songs up; simply meaning you must by the complete album.  Well this new revamped approach seems to be working out well as the album has moved over 800,000 albums in 3 days and has break iTunes record.

This album boasts collaborations from Jay Z, Frank Ocean and production from some Hit-Boy, Timbaland, and her very own baby Blue.

This album was a complete surprise to fans and many news outlets alike simply because there was no real marketing push. But as Bey explained in Part 1 of a documentary about its creation, “I feel like I am able to speak directly to my fans. There’s so much that gets between the music, the artist and the fans. I felt like I didn’t want anybody to give the message when my record is coming out. I just want this to come out when it’s ready and from me to my fans.”

One of the most important part of that message is that Beyonce was right because her fans understood the communication and help her pulled off the unthinkable, with her new album selling over 400,000 units in its first day and officially moving 828,773 copies (globally) and 617,213 (in the U.S.) in its first three days available, a feat that breaks iTunes’ one-week sales record.

According to Revolt.tv, Bey’s impressive figures surpass her own first-week sales record (with B’Day) of 541,000 units sold, as she – via her very own version of #NewRules – makes her way back to that No. 1 spot.
